My inspiration for Abstract Art Forty-Two and its companion piece, Abstract Art Forty-One, was the way that islands of intense colors have a sense of evolving awareness as they intersect and blend with a ground of white. For me, these paintings give a sense of spiritual or emotional awakening as the deep blue gathers its intensity and floats on the surface of the canvas.
